The Role:
The Learning Development Assistant plays an important role in supporting the educational and personal growth of Junior School students with diverse learning needs. Working closely with the Head of Learning Development – Junior School and Learning Development Teachers, this role provides individualised support to help students develop confidence, learning skills, and independence.
There are two fulltime fixed term (12-month) contracts available at our Donvale and Kew Junior School Campuses.

The Average Day:
- Work one-on-one or in small groups to support students in completing curriculum tasks.
- Encourage the development of confidence, independence, and a positive attitude toward learning.
- Collaborate with Learning Development, Classroom, and Specialist Teachers to implement learning or intervention plans.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress.
- Support students with life skills or personal care needs as required.
The Person:
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- A Certificate III or IV in School Based Education Support (or equivalent qualification).
- A genuine desire and passion for working with students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a busy school environment.
- Proficiency in using information and communication technologies to support learning and recordkeeping.
A valid Employee Working with Children Check is a requirement of employment for this position.
